I am a fine art landscape photographer based in Westchester County, NY.   I began my love of photography at the tender age of 12 when my father showed me how to use his Nikon 35mm circa 1970.

That Nikon followed me to Stanford where I spent countless hours in the school's darkroom developing my photos of the Palo Alto foothills and California coastline as a way to avoid writing research papers.  In the end, I still had to write the research papers (!), but on the plus side I sharpened my photographic eye and developing skills.

Two graduate degrees and a fast-paced marketing career in New York City later, the birth of my two children inspired me to leave corporate America to pursue my childhood passion.  And so my third "baby", Sarah Wrede Photography, was born.  In the beginning, I photographed newborns, children and families.  After three years of a LOT of weekends spent chasing wiggly toddlers and coaxing bored pre-teens to smile, I found that I desperately missed carefree weekends with my own young family.  So, I refocused my lens and returned to my first love of landscape and nature photography.

Today, you can find me on the beaches and in the forests of the Pacific Northwest and New England, with a few more exotic locales thrown in here and there.  I still shoot with Nikon cameras, my current favorite being the D810.

Fine art prints of my images are available for purchase.
